Award winners instructors – Tango Salón
Tango can be danced at any age!
All levels class: Suitable for individuals with no tango skills and also for those with tango experience.
Class focuses on Argentine tango fundamentals such as walking, embrace, posture, balance, dissociation, leading and following using open and close embrace, and navigation on the dancing floor.
Using a clear step-by-step method, focusing on technique and finesse, we work with a series of simple and complex exercises to re-enforce balance and the importance of dissociation in the torso for both leads and follows. Class will, also, emphasize the technique of followers’ and leaders’ foot work and embellishments.
As the class progresses we introduce simple tango moves or tango figures to help technique, and continue adding more complex sequences to develop good balance and dissociation skills according to the individual’s level.
Class will also cover milonga (simple and traspie), and tango vals (waltz) rhythm.
No partner is needed for participants, and we rotate partners throughout the class, which improves everyone’s awareness and sensitivity.
